Wild Fibres is the basketry range created by Ainsley Warner, a fibre artist from Marrickville Sydney. Ainsley carefully creates unique and one off handwoven designs including baskets and earrings.
Ainsley’s products are created using a wild and unusual range of fibres such as natural and hand dyed Madagascan raffia, recycled sari silk and hemp twine from Nepal, a Japanese silk/wool blend, Japanese cotton gima, sand palm fibres from far north west Northern Territory, printed textiles and any other found fibres she comes across. Ainsley’s colour palette is inspired by textiles, patterns and elements of nature she comes across on her local wanderings, and adventures around the world.
Each product is a journey of colour, texture and thought. No two WIld Fibre pieces are the same.
Find Wild Fibres on Instagram and meet Ainsley and Mark at our market on Saturday 2 April at the Marrickville Town Hall.
